Overview

The beta for Thorium Reader on iOS/iPadOS/macOS is an early look at our new application.

We target iOS/iPadOS/macOS 26 and do not have plans to support older versions.

Latest release

1.1 (May 7, 2026)

• New: Support for search in PDF
• Update: Improved performances when opening up large PDF files
• Fix: We got rid of a bug related to Apple Intelligence when using PDF files

Next release

1.2 (May, 2026)

• New: Tap to zoom on images
• New: Support for Web catalogs

Localization

Our application is currently localized in English, French, Italian, Finnish and Swedish.

All localization will be handled using Weblate at https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/thorium-reader/#information

Localization will be shared between our iOS and Android apps in a single component, but we’ll also share components across Thorium Desktop, Web and Mobile.
