Overview

The beta for Thorium Reader on iOS/iPadOS/macOS is an early look at our new application.

We expect this beta channel to remain open at least until our 1.0 release in 2026.

We target iOS/iPadOS/maOS 26 and do not have plans to support older versions.

Latest release

0.12 (February 12, 2026)

With this build, we're fine-tuning our support for comics. Our next builds will focus on audio throughout the rest of February and March, starting with support for EPUB Media Overlays.

• Update: LCP passwords are now stored in the iOS keychain and synchronized across devices
• Update: Pages that are on their own in a spread are now positioned properly (CBZ or EPUB FXL)
• Update: EPUB FXL with no spread placement now offer the option to display the first page on its own

Localization

Our application is currently localized in English, French, Italian, Finnish and Swedish.

All localization will be handled using Weblate at https://hosted.weblate.org/projects/thorium-reader/#information

Localization will be shared between our iOS and Android apps in a single component, but we’ll also share components across Thorium Desktop, Web and Mobile.
